Steindler Orthopedic offers FREE sports injury clinics for high school athletes
Iowa City, IA (August 29, 2019) — Student athletes around Eastern Iowa are gearing up for Fall sports and Steindler Orthopedic, as it has for over 20 years, will treat high school sports injuries after-hours at its Saturday sports injury clinics now through October 26. Staffed by Steindler orthopedic surgeons and clinical staff who can quickly triage a sports injury, the sports injury clinic is very beneficial to athletes, coaches, and recreational sports enthusiasts.
“When unexpected sports injuries such as sprains, strains, and broken bones occur, we are equipped and staffed to provide excellent and efficient care to student-athletes in our community,” explained Patrick Magallanes, Steindler President and CEO. “Because we have X-ray available onsite and plenty of exam rooms, Steindler’s sports clinic is the ideal convenient, cost-efficient, and time-saving alternative to the emergency room or urgent care.”
Saturday sports clinics will take place at Steindler Orthopedic (2751 Northgate Drive, Iowa City 52245) on Saturdays at 8 am – clinic will close when all patients have been seen, so please arrive at 8 am. Steindler will offer a free initial assessment of the sports injury and recommend a comprehensive treatment plan designed to get the athlete back to the playing field as quickly and safely as possible. Walk-in patients are welcome, and most insurance plans are accepted if care beyond the initial visit is required. Additional charges may apply for x-rays, supplies, and follow-up visits. Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If further care is required, the sports clinic team will work with families to get the student to an appropriate provider.
