Fracture of the Talus

-A +A

A talus fracture is a serious injury to the ankle.  The talus is the bone that moves when the ankle goes up and down.  It typically requires a very forceful injury such as a fall from height or a motor vehicle accident to fracture this bone.  The talus has a poor blood supply and heals slowly and often needs to be carefully repaired to have the best outcome.
